Tower Grabber Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

Tower Grabber is an Android application for bell ringers to record towers they have visited, ringing sessions, bells rung, photographs and audio recordings.

Data stored by Tower Grabber

Tower Grabber is designed primarily to operate offline. Personal ringing records created in the app are stored locally on the user’s device.

This may include:

  • towers added to the user’s personal records;
  • dates and details of ringing sessions;
  • bells rung;
  • photographs selected or taken by the user;
  • audio recordings made by the user.

Tower Grabber also contains local reference information derived from Dove’s Guide for Church Bell Ringers. This reference information is not personal user data.

Camera and photographs

Tower Grabber may request access to the device camera or photographs when the user chooses to take, import or manage photographs. These photographs are used only for the functions selected by the user.

Microphone and audio

Tower Grabber may request access to the device microphone when the user chooses to record bell-ringing audio. Audio recordings are stored locally for use within the app.

Collection and sharing of data

Tower Grabber does not require a user account.

Tower Grabber does not use advertising or advertising trackers.

Tower Grabber does not sell personal information.

Personal ringing records, photographs and audio are not transmitted to the developer as part of normal app operation.

If the user deliberately exports, backs up or shares information using Android or another service, that information will be handled by the service or destination selected by the user and may be subject to that service’s own privacy policy.

Data security

Personal Tower Grabber information is stored within the application’s local storage and user media storage as appropriate. Users should protect access to their device using the security features provided by Android.

Data retention and deletion

Personal information remains on the user’s device until it is edited, deleted, or the application’s local data is removed by the user.

Tower Grabber provides controls for managing personal tower records and associated media.

Uninstalling the application or clearing its application data may remove locally stored information. Users should make appropriate backups before removing data they wish to retain.

Children

Tower Grabber is not specifically designed for children.

Changes to this privacy policy

This policy may be updated if Tower Grabber’s functionality or data-handling practices change. The current version will remain available at this address.
